Christchurch studio practice
Meet the artist
Elizabeth is a New Zealand artist working from her small home studio in Christchurch. A lifelong artist, she has always been drawn to the immediacy and versatility of acrylic paint, with drawing and the occasional oil study woven through her practice.
Her work is driven by a desire to capture life and feeling, from coastlines shaped by light and weather to animal studies full of presence and character. She is endlessly fascinated by the complexity of colour theory and the fine intricacies that define each creature or coastline, and that curiosity guides the way she paints.
While her current practice focuses on landscapes and animal studies, Elizabeth is always exploring new subjects and ideas, following whatever sparks her interest or deepens her connection to the natural world.
Working quietly from her home studio, she creates paintings that reflect mood, movement, and the stories held in the land and the living beings around us.
